OWL Owls are carnivorous birds that belong to the order Strigiformes. They are nocturnal birds who love to hunt rat by night. They are divided into the Strigidae family (usually known as true owls) and Tytonidae family (usually known as barn-owls). They inhabited almost all regions of the world except for Antarctica and some remote islands.Owls have several kinds, examples of elf owls and Eurasian Eagle-owls. The elf owl ( micrathene whitneyi ) is grayish-brown, color-patched with brown and white spots. Unlike many other owl species, the elven owl's round head has no fringe ears. However, it has a distinctive white eyebrow over a yellow eye and a small gray beak. The Eurasian owl ( bubo-bubo ) is a species of the eagle owl that lives in much of Eurasia. It is also called uhu and in Europe, sometimes short only of the eagle owl. It has a characteristic fringe of the ears, with a freckled top of a darker and brownish color.
